At the following sites you can find a great deal of information concerning local properties. Such things as current assessed values, tax rates, past sales values, delinquent taxes, FEMA flood zone designations, future use designations, etc. are available on many of the sites. On the Pasco County site you can even see copies of deeds and mortgages for the past 15 years since the appraiser site links to the public records database.
Most appraisers also have information concerning the many property tax exemptions that you may be able to take advantage of. The best known is the
Homestead Tax Exemption, however there are several others. These can save you hundreds of dollars, so it is important that you check to see if you qualify.
All of this information will make you a better informed home buyer or seller. Just click on the county's name below to be taken to the property appraiser's site for the county where your home is located.
Be aware that changes in Florida's property tax laws were enacted in the winter of 2008. These mostly affect homesteaded properties. As well as other issues, they increased the Homestead Exemption amount for qualifying properties worth more than $50,000 and give us "Save Our Homes" savings portability. For more information about these issues, click on the links below where you will be able to read more info and find contact information. The County Property Appraisers' Offices are the final authorities on these tax matters. So give the a call to get the facts straight from the source!
